Spammer in the Can, IIA 16 April 2005

US spammer Jeremy Jaynes, who made millions out of peoples gullibility, has been jailed by a Virginia court for nine years.

It is reported by the Sudney Morning Herald that Jaynes used a simply mass mailing program to send out millions of emails offering simple deals for software or home-based businesses for quite small amounts of money. He simply referred those who paid to other websites.

Prosecutors claim that he made some $US24 million before he was stopped. They found evidence in his home-operated business that he had acquired almost 400 million email addresses.
